Caring for Your Dress Shirt

Made to be washed at home and worn often. Here's how to keep it at its best.

Skip the Dry Cleaner

Our Performance Dress Shirts are made to be machine washed. They come out ready to wear, without the plastic, the wire hangers, or the pickup schedule.

Made to Stay Sharp

Our performance fabric is built to resist wrinkles, so it looks the same at the end of the day as it did at the start. An iron is optional. A quick steam is usually all it needs.

Make It Last

A few simple habits keep your shirt looking new, wear after wear.

  1. Remove the collar stays

Washing with them in can bend the stays and leave marks on the collar. Pull them first and the collar keeps its shape.

  2. Wash cold, inside out

Cold water protects the color and finish. Turning the shirt inside out cuts down on friction, so the outside stays smooth.

  3. Leave out softener and bleach

Softener coats the fibers and blocks the fabric from breathing and wicking. Chlorine bleach breaks down the stretch over time.

  4. Hang or tumble dry low

Hang it straight from the washer for the fewest creases, or tumble on low. Either way, it dries fast and is ready for tomorrow.

  5. Steam if needed

A handheld steamer takes care of packing creases. If you’d rather iron, keep it on low.
